The Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) was legally established in 1995 by the Standards Act and operates as a parastatal organization since 1997. BOBS is the official body responsible for all issues related to standardization and quality assurance at national level. It is also a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and an official contact point for all SADC programmes on Standardization and Quality Assurance. BOBS co-ordinates or carries out technical services for customers in relevant fields. Its customers are the private sector as well as public organizations and consumers.
